You saw a man get shot to death, so you go to the police. Then a person is arrested for the murder1. The murderer turns out to be a member of the Mafia2. If you tell on him, he'll go to prison for the rest of his life. Before the trial, you start getting strange phone calls that threaten your life and everyone else in your family.

You're scared and you don't know what to do. You don't want to let someone get away with murder, but you don't want to lose your life, either. In the end, you testify3 and the murderer goes to prison. Even though he's in prison, you're still in danger. You need protection.

This is where the United States' Witness4 Protection Program steps in. The program was designed to help people who are threatened before, during, or after a trial. The Witness Protection Program isn't an easy way out for people that have witnessed a crime. In fact, it can be the hardest decision that they'll ever have to make.

This is the best song (that) I've ever heard.
4.與 not 並用,形成"not ever"之用法,即等於 never,但一般使用時仍以 never 較常見。
