A Trumpeter during a battle ventured too near the enemy and was captured by them. They were about to proceed to put him to death when he begged them to hear his plea for mercy. "I do not fight," said he, "and indeed carry no weapon; I only blow this
trumpet, and surely that cannot harm you; then why should you kill me?"

"You may not fight yourself," said the others, "but you encourage and guide your men to the fight."

The moral is that： Words may be deeds.

譯文

戰役裡的喇叭手，太靠近敵軍，被抓了起來。當敵軍正要處死他，他懇求他們發發慈悲懇聽他的請求。「我不打仗的，」他這麼說著，「而且並沒有帶任何的武器。 我只不過是吹了這支喇叭，那並不會傷你任何汗毛，你們為什麼要殺我？」

「你是沒有參與戰役，」其他的人回應道，「但是你卻鼓舞和指引了你的同伴對抗我們阿。」

寓意： 言語可能等同行為了。
