A woman in a dark blue suit comes to the office. She tells the front desk that she has an appointment with Brian Smith.

Brian:Hello, Mrs. Chen. It's great to see you. This is our new sales representative, Joyce Huang. Joyce, this is Mrs. Chen from the GA Company.

Mrs. Cheng: (smiling) Perhaps you would like to know that my name is Cheng, not Chen, Brian. Nice to meet you, Joyce.

Joyce: Nice to meet you, Mrs. Cheng.

Brian:This way, please, Mrs. Cheng. Allow us to present you our company's latest product. It will definitely suit your needs.

After Mrs. Cheng leaves, Brian and Joyce begin their discussion.

Joyce: Brian, is there any chance that she will order our products?
Brian,

Brian:I wasn't confident about the meeting. We gave a good presentation, but we made several mistakes as well. For example, my mispronunciation of her name could have been a fatal mistake.

Joyce: Well, she said that she would discuss it with her colleagues first, and then she would come over again to make her final decision. We still have a chance to win her business.

Brian:You're right. In that case, we have to be thoroughly prepared next time, including finding a most comfortable chair and a drink before she arrives.

1. appointment (n.) 約會

例:She told the front desk that she had an appointment with Brian Smith.

I had to cancel the appointment because of the weather.

2. definitely (adv.)

It will definitely suit your needs.

I promised you, so I will definitely help you.

3. confident (adj.)

I wasn't confident of the meeting.

He is confident that he has the ability to work here.

4. fatal (adj.)

My mispronunciation of her name could have been a fatal mistake.

I lost the game because of a fatal flaw.

5. prepared (adj.)

We have to be thoroughly prepared next time.

The final exam is coming next week. Please be prepared.

She said that she would discuss it with her colleagues first.

Have you discussed the matter with Mr. Wood?

She would come over again to make her final decision.

Who allowed Jerry to make the final decision?
