podcast　是什麼？

podcast (v., n.) 播客（製作並播放聲音電台，供iPod使用者收聽的廣播型態）
podcaster (n.) 製播「播客」的人
podcasting (n.) 播放播客

自從iPod問世以來，許多與iPod相關的新詞也相繼出現，例如iPodder就是「使用iPod電子音樂產品的人」；podcast這個字更被美國方言協會(American Dialect Society)選為二○○六年Word of the Year之一。

If you`re considering starting a podcast, then make sure you`re doing it for the right reasons. These reasons could include mostly anything, except this one: making a load of money.

The fact is, of the thousands of podcasts available online, only a small, no 1)minuscule, 2)fraction is profitable. The problem is that advertisers just aren`t willing to 3)shell out the big bucks on podcasts. This is probably because there are no standards for podcast advertisements and also no 4)standardized means of measuring audience sizes.

But this may change. As more and more people around the world discover this new broadcasting 5)medium, it seems inevitable that some advertising money will 6)trickle down from the “old 5)media,” TV and radio.
