英文的學習不能等

台灣每年有超過萬人，到英國、澳洲、紐西蘭…等英語系國家念書。但根據2006年IELTS學術組統計，台灣人的英語能力，在20個報考IELTS人數較多的國家中，排名第17名，落後鄰近的日本、韓國，甚至比不上越南、巴基斯坦。

「get the boot」
英解︰be fired

中文常用「捲舖蓋走路」來比喻「被開除了」。英文則是用「從老闆那兒拿到靴子」來表示相同的意思，就是一腳把你踢開，叫你走路了。另外，也可以用「give sb. the boot」來表示「開除某人」。
