哈啦雙語週報 神奇聽力通10 分鐘 第一個跟我說這種話的人
Cindy: This restaurant isn't clean. Look Bruce. There's a hair in my soup again.
Bruce: I don't think it's the restaurant's fault. Cindy, I'm losing my hair.
Cindy: That's why the sink at your house is always plugged.
Bruce: There's another thing too. You know why I always want to sit close to the TV? Well, it's because I wear glasses. I just haven't worn them in front of you yet.
Cindy: Don't worry so much. My dad is bald and has glasses. I prefer guys like that.
Bruce: You're the first person to ever say that to me.

Antonio: Clarissa, are you OK?
Clarissa: Will you get some warm water for my knee?
Antonio: There isn't any hot water, and did you notice that the sink leaks? Do we have a newspaper? I have to go to the bathroom.
(About ten minutes later)
Clarissa: We have hot water now. I just needed to change the battery for the hot water heater.
Antonio: But now the toilet won't flush. I've tried everything, but nothing works. Maybe you should stay away from the bathroom for a while. Looks like we'll have to call a plumber.
(Clarissa calls Pete's Plumbing)
Pete: Pete's Plumbing at your service. Pete speaking, how may I help you?
Clarissa: My name's Clarissa Bandonio, of 453 Santa Monica Boulevard. My toilet is plugged up and my kitchen sink has a leak.
Pete: No worries, ma'am. I have an opening next week.
Clarissa: I can't wait until next week.
Pete: Well, it's $100 for me to come out. Plus an extra $50 for rush service. Once I locate the problem, it may cost you more.

Claire: Jeffrey, have you heard about the new perfumes for sale at SOGO? They have summer scents, like pink roses and evening mist!
Jeffrey: Claire, you know I don't care about perfume. I don't go to SOGO either. Everything there is too expensive.
Claire: You should start paying attention to these things. There're two Chinese Valentine's Days this year. Have you thought about what you're going to get me for the second one? It's all so exciting.
Jeffrey: Two Chinese Valentine's Days! On top of Western Valentine's Day, that makes three in one year.
Claire: It sure makes up for having two Ghost Months.
Jeffrey: I should have listened to my father when he said having a girlfriend is no good.

Unit 6 In The Blood Of A Beast 1
Rick is HIV positive 2 .
Rick: So, doc, what's the bad news?
Doctor: Actually, Rick, your immune 3 system 4 is holding its own. And there's more good news.
Rick: I already read the paper—scientists in Australia are working on a new drug that may help in the fight against HIV.
Doctor: And all thanks to crocodiles 5 ! They've known for a long time that the beasts have strong immune systems.
Rick: Yes, it is interesting how they often lose limbs 6 when they fight with each other, but they seldom get infections 7 .
Doctor: Well, they discovered why—the croc's immune system attaches 8 itself to bacteria 9 and tears 10 them apart 11 ! It also kills the HIV virus 12 more effectively 13 than ours can.
Rick: I was thinking, doc—that could help in fighting bird flu or other viruses, too.
Doctor: We're hopeful 14 . Right now testing is being done on crocodile blood.
Rick: It may take years, but I cannot help believing it'll work.

Unit 3 Forever 1 Young
Patty: Wasn't today's science class interesting?
Simon: Yeah! Just think, even old people's bodies may be only fifteen years old! But I don't have any idea how...
Patty: Well, some scientists believe that by tracking 2 the age of carbon 3 -14 in our bodies' cells, we can figure out when these cells were created 4 .
Simon: And most organs 5 are made of cells produced in the last ten or fifteen years, right?
Patty: Right! Although you may think your whole body is aging 6 , most of it is in a state 7 of constant 8 change and regeneration 9 .
Simon: So, how do scientists explain why this regeneration doesn't continue forever?
Patty: Well, they say it could be due to DNA mutations 10 , mitochondria 11 DNA going unrepaired 12 , or stem 13 cells—which make new cells—actually aging themselves.
Simon: Very interesting, Patty. You're doing well in science!
Patty: Thanks. Now if only I could stop getting older....

Stifler: I'm the champion again! I always win. Nobody can beat me in Shoot'em Up Basketball.
Cadence: That's great Stifler. How about you come try Dance Dance Revolution with me?
Stifler: Dancing is for chicks. If anyone from the football team sees me dancing, they'll think I'm a wimp.
Cadence: You're just saying that because dancing is the one sport you can't do.
Stifler: Anyone can dance, and it's not a sport. If you think you're so good, then I challenge you to a Dance Dance Revolution match.
(They go head to head at Dance Dance Revolution)
Man: Wow, that girl is an amazing dancer.
Woman: Yeah. But that guy is terrible. He moves around like he has ants in his pants.
(Stifler trips on his own feet)
Cadence: Stifler! Are you OK?
Stifler: Wow, dancing is much harder than I thought.
Cadence: Next week is the welcome freshman dance at school. I can't be embarrassed in front of all of our new classmates. Stifler, I promise that by next week, I will make you a star dancer.

Mandy: That’s not a good idea, Jerome. Typhoons are dangerous. Besides, you don掐 even know how to swim.
